Stephen Kellis
Stephen was admitted to practise as a Barrister and Solicitor in South Australia in 2003. He was subsequently admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court and Federal Court in August 2005.
Stephen commenced working with a large commercial law firm in its Insurance Division in 2002 as a Clerk, working part-time whilst completing his studies. He then commenced full time employment as a Solicitor immediately with that firm upon graduating with his Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice with Honours from Flinders University of South Australia at the end of 2003.
Since Stephen’s admission, he has worked almost exclusively in the area of insurance litigation, first at a large commercial law firm, then with Dnistriansky Kellis Lawyers from July 2006 to June 2007 and from July 2007 to present with BDK Lawyers. He has been involved in several high profile South Australian based litigation including the Hindmarsh Island Bridge case, the Garibaldi Metwurst Salmonella class action, the Nippy’s Salmonella class action and the Spin Dragon collapse class action.

Stephen coaches junior basketball at the Forestville Eagles Basketball Club. He is an avid lover of sports in general but particularly basketball and AFL. Stephen is also an Accredited AFL Player Manager.
